Im a designer of many things, I have created brand indentities, Designed many a website, Created graphic T-shirts for clients and even fine art projects. I do have the equivlant of a 2 year degree in fine arts but lets be honest, It hasnt helped me one bit. Everything I can do I have learned through real life scenarios, working on projects, and just playing around. The knowledge I have is from real life and nothing learned in a class can top that.
